MBA Core Courses

Students who have completed twelve or more undergraduate hours in Management, Marketing, Finance, or Accounting may substitue an elective for the corresponding course.

Core Courses:

ACC 450 - Management Accounting:
Covers the interpretation and use of accounting data in the solution of business problems.

ACC 468 - Management Information Systems:
Emphasizes enhancing the competitive position of an organization while evaluating the ethical and human issues associated with the use of information. The technical component of the course includes data and voice communication networks, data base structures, artificial intelligence, information support systems design, and computer security.

FIL 440 - Financial Management:
Shows you how to formulate and solve problems encountered in the financing of businesses.

MBA 412 - Contemporary Business Perspectives and Leadership Skills:
Interdisciplinary, team-taught course covering leadership, ethics, diversity, global perspective, communication, problem solving, decision making, and teamwork. This course is designed to be the first core course you take in the MBA program.

MKT 430 - Advanced Marketing Management:
Emphasizes principles, behavioral concepts, and strategies used to analyze marketing problems and decisions.

MQM 427 - Operations and Quality Management:
Course focus is on strategies, concepts, and tools for management of quality and the core function of producing goods and services.

MQM 421 - Organizational Behavior:
Explains how people respond to management styles and organizational policies.

MQM 497 - Research Methodology:
Teaches students the scientific design of research and the application and interpretation of statistical techniques in data analysis where groups of students participate in actual projects by designing surveys, collecting data, writing reports, and making a formal presentation.

MQM 485 - Advanced Organizational Strategy:
Provides a synthesizing experience where you apply the concepts, theories, and tools you have learned to solve business problems presented as simulation exercises or case studies.
