Graduate assistantships are university appointments that give students an opportunity to work with faculty members and provide a method of funding graduate studies. They are an excellent opportunity for gaining experience and academic growth in the College of Business Departments of Accounting, Finance-Insurance-Law, Management, and Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Assisting faculty members with research activities
- Advising students
- Supervising laboratory groups
- Tutoring
- Grading Papers
- Working 10-20 hours per week
- Playing a leadership role within the college
- Participating in activities designed for MBA students within the college
Additional Information
- Incoming students and continuing MBA students must have a GPA of at least 3.0 to be considered for a GA appointment
- Department Chairs traditionally begin reviewing applications in late March for the Fall Semester and mid-October for the Spring Semester. The process continues until all positions are filled
- Approximately 25-30 assistantships are available in the College
- Full-time graduate assistants receive a monthly stipend of $850, and a full tuition waiver
- One-half time graduate assistants receive $425, and a full tuition waiver
