All MBA students are requested to use our schedule planning program. Whether you are just entering the program or will graduate this semester, you need to use this program as soon as possible. It will only take you 10-20 minutes to enter up to three versions (high, medium, and low preference) of your long-term plan for taking courses.
This program provides two main benefits. First, you will be able to visit the site at your convenience, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, to draw up or make changes in your schedule. This will help answer questions for you when your adviser is not available. It will also allow time spent with your adviser to be devoted to more complex questions than simply whether or not the courses you want will fit your schedule.
The other benefit to you is that, once all MBA students enter their schedules, we will be able to do queries to determine how many seats to have available in future courses. When you advance register for courses, you only tell us your plans for one or two semesters. The scheduling program, on the other hand, allows you to tell us your plans even for 2-3 years from now.
Note that this program does NOT register you for courses. It simply allows you to PLAN your courses.
When entering your schedule, you need to start with the first semester in which you took MBA classes.
[Note: If you started MBA classes before Spring 2001, and if you did not enter into the earlier version of the software the classes you had taken before Spring 2001, contact your advisor, and those classes will be entered for you. Then you will need to create a schedule starting with the classes you took in Spring 2001.]
Our curriculum is flexible, and the software was not written to accommodate every exception. If your schedule includes one of those exceptions, we will be happy to work with you to resolve any problems that creates. For example, until the software allows you to enter independent studies and internships into your schedules we will do that for you. If we waived a core course for you (and substituted an elective) but you want to take it anyway, we will enter that core class for you. If you wish to take MQM 427: Operations / Quality Management in the same fall or spring semester as MQM 485: Problems and Policy, we will enter that for you.
If the software says you need to take a course which you believe was waived, contact your advisor, and that will be checked for you.
Students who sit out a fall or spring semester will need to contact their advisor to regain access to the software.
If you have advising issues, please contact Bj Newmister at bjnewmi@ilstu.edu. If you encounter any problems in using this software, it would be helpful for you to include the text of the error message and the URL of the page where you encountered the error.
