The Environmental Protection Agency offers great internship opportunities for students.  The positions include paid part-time, semester length, seasonal or summer trainee employment that compliments the students’ academic focus. 

Applications must be received by January 15, 2010 for consideration for the summer 2010 positions.

Opportunities that might be of interest to MBA students include:

  • Program Analyst trainee:  this position involves, but is not limited to, the analysis of environmental policies, programs and initiatives, program planning and evaluation, budgetary analysis and formulation, financial analysis, assisting in make more efficient EPA business practices through automation and analysis.
    • Location: Washington, DC
    • Salary: $19.75/hr for Master’s candidate
  • Financial Specialist trainee:  focuses on analysis of EPA’s financial policies, programs, and initiatives, budgetary analysis, and financial management.

The qualifications for all positions are as follows:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree-granting program at an accredited college or university
  • At least a 2.95 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Recommended by university faculty
  • Basic background investigation
  • Individual opportunities may have additional qualifications or require a specific major

Sales Position with Campus Life Marketing

Campus Life Marketing LLC is launching its "Campus Life Calendar" at Illinois State University in January 2010.  The company’s product has been a huge success this fall on seven campuses across the country, including The Ohio State University, Purdue University, and Texas State University.  ISU's Campus Life Calendar will highlight important academic, athletic, social, and Greek events during the January through June 2010 period.  Campus Life Marketing LLC will print and distribute for free 10,000 of these 27" x 39" full-color, glossy calendar posters to the ISU students before the start of the Spring Term in early January. 

The company is looking for a motivated, outgoing, and organized individual to handle the sponsorship sales for the calendar.  The job is to identify those businesses that would most likely benefit from this type of exposure to the ISU student body and sell them on the product.  The sponsorships range in price from $375 to $1,500, and the entire calendar will total $18,000 in sales.  A commission of 20% of the gross sales is given.  For more information about the product, you may visit the organization’s website.

Position is to help run a fast-paced office environment, answer phones/emails and assist owner, as well as update & maintain the website.

Hours are usually from 8:30-4:00 M-F, but are flexible.

All applicants must be responsible, dependable, and pleasant with a good attitude and be a quick learner.  Must also be able to manage other employees, as well as be self motivated and able to work independently. 

Well suited job for a grad student or young professional who is currently continuing their education.  Does require availability during part of the holiday season.

Job requires:
