Circumstances Requiring an Override

Spring Semester

MBA 412: Contemporary Business Perspectives and Leadership Skills.  

It has been "zero-maxed" to prevent non-majors from registering for it. It therefore does not even appear in the list of open sections, but it IS being offered in spring.  All MBA students who plan to take MBA 412 in spring will need overrides.

MQM 485: Advanced Organizational Strategy

If you had MQM 421, MKT 430, FIL 440, or MQM 427 waived

Note: You should be able to take MQM 427 (which may be taken concurrently with MQM 485) in Spring and still register for MQM 485 for Spring without an override as long as you register for MQM 427 before you register for MQM 485.

ACC 450: Management Accounting

If you have not taken the ACC 401 foundation course. In other words, if you had ACC 401 waived because you took ACC 131 and 132 or their equivalents here at Illinois State or elsewhere, you will need an override for ACC 450.

ACC 468: Management Information Systems

Unless you took ACC 150, 166, 167, 168, and 189 here at Illinois State.  In other words, just about every MBA student will need an override whenever they plan to take ACC 468.

Random Spring Electives

If you had its core course prerequisite waived. For example, if you plan to take MKT 432: Marketing Research in Spring and had MKT 430 waived, you will need an override for MKT 432.

Each of your MBA classes

If you started in another master's program, and are now doing an MBA simultaneously.

Summer and Fall Semesters

MQM 485: Advanced Organizational Strategy

(1) if you plan to take it in Summer, or (2) if you plan to take it in Fall and plan to take one or more of the following in Summer: MQM 421, MKT 430, and/or FIL 440, or (3) if you had MQM 421, MKT 430, or FIL 440 waived.

Note: You should be able to take MQM 427 (the other MQM 485 prerequisite, but which may be taken concurrently with MQM 485) in Summer or Fall and still register for MQM 485 for Fall without an override as long as you register for MQM 427 before you register for MQM 485.
