MBA Awards

Outstanding MBA Student Award Winners

MBA students are chosen annually for recognition in the form of Outstanding MBA Student Awards. Prior to 2002, one award each year was based on academics and on service activities, and the other one on academics and professional activities. Each year now, one part-time and one full-time student are chosen, based on all three criteria—academics, service activities, and professional activities—by a team consisting of the MBA Director, the MBA Association President, and the prior year’s Outstanding MBA Faculty member.

The award winners’ names are inscribed on a plaque in the MBA office, and they each receive a cash prize from the MBA Program’s foundation account. In 2003, the prize was increased from $300 to $500 each. In 2004, an additional award was funded by Wright Financial Group/Northwestern Mutual. It is awarded to the most outstanding student (overall winner) and carries a larger cash prize. Award winners include:

Outstanding MBA Faculty Award

Each year, a graduate faculty member who has taught an MBA course over the past year is recognized with an Outstanding MBA Faculty Award. The MBA Association conducts the election, which consists of two rounds of voting by MBA students.

The Outstanding MBA Faculty Member receives a plaque. In addition, each recipient’s name is inscribed on a plaque that is permanently displayed in the MBA Office. Beginning in 2003, recipients now also receive a $500 cash prize from the MBA Program’s foundation account.
