When you contribute to the Illinois State University Foundation and designate your gift for the MBA program, have you ever wondered how it is put to work? We do our best to make wise use of your gifts, investing them in the futures of students and of the MBA program. Following are a few purposes to which they have been put, as well as a wish list for the future.
One of our proudest moments each year is the moment when we announce the winners of the outstanding MBA student and faculty awards.
Thanks to the generosity of many institutional and individual donors every year we now give out five awards for students and one for faculty and all of them carry a monetary prize (three $750 awards and two $500 awards for students and one $500 faculty award). As you can easily see, your gifts allow us to make these and other awards possible.
Before students are far enough along in the MBA program to qualify for these awards, many of them must take foundation courses, which expose them to basic business concepts and vocabulary. But those incoming students with academic coursework in relevant areas may take proficiency exams to determine whether the courses will be waived for them. Development and administration of proficiency exams is paid for with your donated funds.
Publications such as the aMBAssador magazine and our viewbook for prospective students are also paid for by donated gifts. In addition, donated funds are used for professional development funds for faculty and staff.
Without doubt your generosity makes a clear difference in the services the MBA program is able to provide. It is your gifts and contributions that make our program to progress further. Thank you for investing in our students’ futures.
