The Export Project is an innovative international consulting opportunity available to ISU students.  Currently we are looking for excellent students who will be paired with well positioned small to medium-sized companies that are committed to penetrating overseas markets.

What is expected of me?

  • In the fall of 2008 student teams will participate in an export seminar.  The seminar will focus on exporting fundamentals.
  • During spring, student teams will consult with companies to understand their information needs for a specific market.  For some companies it may be market entry research and for others it may be market penetration.
  • In the summer of 2009, student teams will travel to the target country for four weeks to conduct additional research pursuant to company interests. You will receive three hours of internship credit for participating in the Export Project.

How much will this cost me?

  • In country-costs are covered by a federal grant.
  • Participants will be responsible for airfare and tuition.  Note, some funds will be available to offset part of the airfare cost.

How can I participate?

Complete the attached application form and submit it along with a resume to Dr. Iris Varner (izvarner@ilstu.edu) by Monday, February 11, 2008.
